Honor announces Honor View 10, attractive cousin of Huawei Mate 10

Honor not only invited the French and European press to unveil the Honor 7X award. His biggest announcement of the day is undoubtedly the arrival in our country of a certain Honor View 10. A smartphone that we already know, since it was announced a few weeks ago in China under the name of Honor V10.

Honor now has the ambition to be among the greats. Like Samsung, like LG and its parent company Huawei, he will have announced two flagships this year. The first is well known, this is the Honor 9, released in the middle of the year, and the second has just been announced, it is the Honor View 10, also known as Honor View 10 (or V10 for intimates). But he will not leave this year with us.

A big screen, a big SoC

The Honor View 10, to summarize roughly, is a classic Huawei Mate 10 (a device marketed only in Spain, unlike the Huawei Mate 10 Pro) which would have grafted an 18: 9 screen. A definition screen Full HD + (2160 × 1080 pixels) that occupies the major part of the front of the device and under which is a fingerprint sensor "placed under a thin glass pane". And like all 18: 9 devices, its chassis adopts the dimensions of a 5.5-inch smartphone. It has an impressive fineness of less than 7 mm .. Note also, still in the design points, Honor View 10 has a port jack, USB Type-C, but is not waterproof to the water.

More than its design, neat but classic, it is especially its technical sheet which impresses. Honor has simply taken over the high-end components of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. So we find a SoC Kirin 970, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory that can be expanded with a micro-SD card. The phone also has a big 3750 mAh battery that supports fast charging. a real high-end smartphone

The AI and the NPU particularly put forward

Honor has communicated a lot about the integration of an NPU – Neural Processing Unit – a chip integrated into Kirin 970 that allows him to support and manage Artificial Intelligences. The applications seem more numerous and more convincing than those of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Honor has put forward a facial recognition feature that relies on the front camera and the NPU, which will be able to recognize the face of the user and unlock the phone if necessary. This NPU and this I.A. would thus be able to recognize when the user's eyes are closed or to block notifications when he does not recognize the face.

This NPU has been put forward on many aspects of the phone. It allows for better photos (automatic recognition of scenes), to gain autonomy and performance, to recognize a noisy environment to better isolate the voice when you phone, to track the eyes of the user to know when he look at the screen or not, etc. There is a magical side to this I.A., which is capable of practically doing everything. However, we will wait to have the phone in hand to shout a miracle.

Arrival in France scheduled for next year at a price of 499 euros

His double dorsal photo sensor is identical to his Huawei cousin. The main sensor is a 16 MP (RGB) color sensor supported by a 20 MP monochrome secondary sensor. A duo that has already proven itself this year on the Huawei P10, the Honor 9 or a certain Mate 10 Pro. But no Leica certification in the case of Honor View 10.

Sold under 400 euros in China (3000 yuan), the Honor View 10 will be marketed in France at a price of 499 euros. Honor, however, does not want to hurry and does not rely on him for Christmas sales. The Honor View 10 will be available from January 8th in two colors: blue or black. A very promising device with a bluffing price-performance ratio
