About The Olympic Torch Relay

The Olympic Torch Relay is a grassroots celebration of the Olympic spirit and is the biggest roadshow in the world. It gives a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Samsung torchbearers. The Olympic Torch Relay is the World's biggest non-competition event, which provides ordinary people with an opportunity to participate.

For the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 Samsung selected 1,900 torchbearers for the relay that covered 34 cities in 27 countries. Similarly, in Torino Samsung chose another 1,900 torchbearers to bring the Olympic Flame to Italy.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch Relay begins on 1st April 2008 and finishes on 8th August 2008. It consists of International legs and legs in China with a total number of 21,280 Torchbearers.
