All those nominated must:

  • Be physically able to run 400m and carry the Olympic flame
  • Must be over 14 years of age
  • Agree to be filmed or photographed during the course of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch Relay
  • Run their designated legs
  • Wear no commercial or corporate advertising signs
  • Not display any political or religious views
  • Agree to take part in Samsung promotional activities relating to the Olympics
